Two ready-to-use lessons, designed for teachers who are not musicians: a computer, speakers and the free Cosmic Keyboard. Each lesson comes with a step-by-step teacher's guide and a take-home sheet so parents can play along with their children.
Listen, sing and feel the pulse. The class sings the scale with the keyboard, plays the echo game, sees the note they sing on the tuner and claps along with the metronome. No music knowledge needed: the keyboard and the tuner do the work; the teacher guides.

Inventar, tocar y presentar. Invent, play and present. In groups, pupils invent a melody with five keys that always sound good, discover rhythm (“ta”, “ti-ti”, “ta-a”), play it to the pulse, choose an instrument for it and record it.

Tocar — Ejercicio Nº 1Playing — Exercise Nº 1
An original composition in C major. You open the Cosmic Keyboard and play it from the QWERTY keyboard, with the metronome. No need to read music: the table gives the key and the finger, cell by cell, and it ends with the order to practise in — one hand first, then the other.

Conviene haber hecho antes la parte 1.The same piece, now written in the Score bar by bar: channels and instruments, values with the NUM PAD, bar structure, repeat and dynamics, all the way to printing it. Best done after part 1.

No hace falta saber leer música.Chopin’s Prelude no. 4 Op. 28, from a MIDI file to your score: you load it in the Player, save it as MMF and open it in the Score to hear it in Pythagorean tuning, see it as a page and print it. At the end, the same piece from MusicXML: the comparison shows why they are not the same. No need to read music.

The Nº 2 Prelude, as it comes out of the MIDI, gets an interpretation: the tempo, one bar’s pedal carried through the piece as a simile (SEQUENCES), a breathing left hand (Intelligent Beams and an ASYM AGOG region with two axes, TEMPO and PRES), the inner voice of the chords and the delayed turn in bar 16, with its A♯ and G𝄪. At the end, an ear test: how much does a voice need to stand out to be heard?

A MIDI file of the Prelude no. 4 with wrong notes on purpose: you find them by ear with the score beside you and fix them in the Player with the copyist, moving them by true Pythagorean intervals (tone, limma, apotome, comma). Then you save your version as MMF: the whole work, one hand only and a passage of bars.

Después la tocas tú encima del piano y te grabas con el micrófono desde la Console, en un solo WAV.Schubert’s Ave Maria as it arrives from a MIDI file —82 bars, wrong note values, unordered— to a clean score: re-value of the short notes, repeats, the piano brace and the melody moved to the clarinet in B♭ (written and concert pitch). Then you play it over the piano and record yourself with the microphone from the Console, in a single WAV.

The Nº 4 accompaniment sounds correct but flat, like a machine. Here you bring it to life: the right-hand triplets are heard as groups (Intelligent Beams), each group breathes with a small inner motion (ASYM AGOG, carried through the whole verse as a pattern) and the tempo settles at the end. Then you record yourself again and compare the two takes.
